ABOUT OAK HOUSE FARM

We live at the foot of the Yorkshire Wolds, surrounded by beautiful countryside and rolling farmland. 

Our long term aim is to start living a cleaner, healthier and slower lifestyle combined with our passion for animals and the outdoors.

In 2004, whilst living in Sussex, we decided that we  needed a major change of scene. We were both in full-time employment and our four children were in various stages of education . We decided to sign up for a smallholders course and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves as the tutor passed a chicken round the classroom. It all became viable when the offer of a job came up in the beautiful historic city of York . 

It didn't take us long to find the perfect house, and in March 2005 we were settled into our new home, to begin developing our 2.5 acres of land. 

The first job on the 'to do' list was getting the kitchen garden up and running for the summer, so many hours digging and planting ensued. 

It wasn't long before the animals moved in.
